Hello, my name is Lulu Laizer and I am a member of the TEF translators team. First and foremost, I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the TEF team and I thank God for it. I also want to extend my appreciation to my mentors Asifiwe Nyagawa and Eliya Mwampamba for giving me such a valuable experience. Lastly, I want to thank Mr. Gary Shotton for his continuous support and guidance in our business endeavors.
Being a part of TEF has taught me the following:
- To involve God in my business. Before joining TEF, I didn’t pay much attention to involving God in my business. But through God’s laws on business, I have learned that as a Christian, God should be involved in any business I undertake.
- To start with what I have. Before TEF, I used to procrastinate because I thought I didn’t have enough to start a business. But now, I have learned to value what I have and start with it.
- To interact with people. In any business, interaction with people is crucial. Through working with my colleagues and translating writings, I have improved my interaction and exposure to people.
- To do everything with passion and represent Christ. Mr. Gary’s acknowledgment of God in his businesses overwhelmed me. As a Christian, I have learned that God should be seen in everything I do.
My suggestions to the TEF leadership and management are:
- To extend knowledge about business to the youth through clubs in schools and strong leadership. This will change the mindset that only people with business studies can do business.
- To extend TEF to other areas in Tanzania to help more people learn how to undertake business and work efficiently.
Lastly, I pray that TEF will continue to impact more youth and countries with its knowledge. Blessings to the TEF team.
